Write the book that changes you, your business, and the world.
The Better Book Project:
An intimate incubator to help you write, edit, and publish your best book.
It doesn't matter how confident a writer you are, or how well you know your content – EVERY author hits stumbling blocks along the way.
Whether it's spending too much time researching, getting caught up in the details, struggling to see your blind spots, or letting your inner critic take over, there are so many things that can get in the way of writing a great book.
That's exactly why we designed The Better Book Project – an intimate incubator to help you write your best book.

We know you want a book that...
You don't want to write something that sits on people's shelves that never gets read – you want to write something that people use, share, and act on. Create something that you're proud to have as a part of your legacy.
Learn how to clearly and confidently articulate your ideas and expertise in the very best way – and how to use your book as a strategically leveraged asset to grow your business and your influence.
Writing a book is incredible personal development – and it doesn't need to be a painful solo slog. We'll guide you through so that you don't just make it to the finish line – you actually enjoy the journey along the way.

Here's what our alumni have to say
“Writing a book is so big, and sometimes you just need others around to break it down, to help reflect things back to you. If I had to go it alone, it would have taken ten times longer...
Sometimes in business, you have to spend money to make money. This was the authentic and supportive community I wanted to be part of. Even if you’re worried about the investment, it will absolutely pay off."
Dr Bex Bell, Author of Inner Critic to Inner Coach

“Writing a book is a very personal journey; but you don’t have to make that journey alone. I loved having trusted companions who have done this repeatedly with success – their patience, the ability to safely fail when I need to, and the knowledge they’d pick me up when I need it.
I’m not going to lie: it’s not easy! But when you’ve got the right people around you, you believe you can."
Kon Apostolopoulos, Author of The Engagement Blueprint

“[The Better Book Project] wasn’t just about writing, but thinking too. Intelligent Ink created space for me to explore and land on a methodology that felt both authentic to me and actionable for my clients.
The book has led to sales of the program, but it’s also positioned me as an expert in this area – as someone with ideas worth listening to. And it’s definitely a lot easier to do that when you’ve got a book behind you.”
Jude Sclater, Author of Think Like A Coach

“Without The Better Book Project, I’m not sure I would have gotten to a finished book at all, let alone within a 12-month timeline. The guidance helped me shape and refine the book so that it delivers on its promises. The questions posed by both the Inkers and other participants in the live sessions helped me to hone my thinking and write more clearly. And that’s not even considering the valuable practical guidance on how to go from Word doc to a finished product someone can hold in their hands (or on their device).
The Better Book Project provided the right blend of wrap-around support, encouragement, and well-timed gentle challenges to keep me on track and help me create a book that I’m still deeply in love with, more than two years later."
Daria Williamson, Author of Unleash Your Awesome

FAQs
All calls and trainings are on Wednesdays at 10am NZT (check your time zone here).
You can join the program at any time and work through the lessons and modules at your own pace.
Before starting the Better Book Project, you'll need to have completed the Better Book Blueprint – our two day book planning workshop that helps you kick off your book journey with clarity and confidence. This is a prerequisite for joining the Better Book Project, so please sign up here, or book a call with Verity if you want to discuss this further.
If you're planning on writing your book in 9-12 months, we recommend setting aside 6-10 hours per week to join calls and work on your book. If you're hoping to move much faster, just be aware that you'll need to set aside more time – likely 2-3 days a week, or much bigger chunks of time across your month.
In our experience, most people take between nine and 18 months to write, edit, and publish their book. However, we know that everyone moves at a different speed, which is why we offer a six month option – you get to be in the driver's seat and choose the speed at which you drive through the process. The Better Book Project is designed to lead you through the entire book journey, regardless of how fast you move.
Although we’ll try and help you stick to your desired timeframe, we know that sometimes life gets in the way! After your initial commitment period, you'll move onto a rolling membership at $950+GST per month (NZD) and can stay in the Better Book Project for as long as you need.
As you move through the process, you'll be able to unlock three key stages of feedback from our experienced editors:
1. When you complete your first chapter, you'll unlock an early review to give you direction on style and content.
2. When you complete what we call your "holey cheese draft", you'll unlock an editorial review, which will provide actionable feedback on the style, structure, and content – helping you identify where to put your efforts to turn your ugly draft into a brilliant draft.
3. Once you've implemented that feedback and have completed your first full draft, we'll do an in-depth developmental edit – getting you ready to go to a publisher or start the self-publishing process.
We’ll teach you everything you need to know to write, launch, and leverage your book – but if you’re worried that you don’t have the skills to get your book to the standard you’d like, our team of editors and book coaches can help with additional support. For the publish and promote phase, we'll also introduce you to publishing and marketing experts that we trust.
